Since the I Amsterdam card we had included a 24 hour bike rental, I thought it would be a good idea to rent a bike and cycle to the historic Zaanse Schaans region that was known for its windmills. Setting off from the central station, I was impressed by the number of bikes and biking lanes in Amsterdam. After a leisurely 2 hour ride, we were greeted by the smell of roasting choco as we arrived. After a brief stop in the unexpectedly good Zaans Museum, we carried on by bike to the road that went by the wind mills. That is what comes to my mind when I listen to Coldplay's Coloratura - the sun setting as we glide pass the windmills.
